Bryan Thomas

Bryan Thomas trained at the Architectural Association 1945-50, and worked with David Stern and later with Wells Coates and his partner Michael Lyell in London. In 1957 he set up his own practice in Colchester, Essex, producing a number of houses locally, many of which he has since revisited to extend and upgrade for the 21st century. Perhaps Thomas’ most iconic property is the House on the Heath, built in 1974. His most recent projects include in a new house in Alresford, Essex, completed in 2006, a large extension to a house in Wivenhoe in 2015 and a spacious ground floor garden room to a house in Fingringhoe that he designed in 1964.
