Rural Office for Architecture

Rural Office for Architecture is an architectural practice based in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is the work of architect Niall Maxwell, supported by a growing team of architects, technicians and support staff, both in Wales and now in London. The practice has focused on developing a vernacular design response to the rural context in which they live and work. In recent years the location of projects has spread to England, but we continue to respond contextually to each site.

The Modern House Says
"From their out-of-the-way HQ in (you guessed it) rural Wales, this practice makes significant contributions to contemporary regional architecture, including RIBA’s 2017 House of the Year, Caring Wood"
