This three-bedroom architect-designed house in the tranquil setting of Weymede was built in 1963 – 66 by the renowned development company Span. It was designed by Eric Lyons, a celebrated architect whose work has been widely published and is still much admired today. Weymede is a sought-after collection of houses set amongst private gardens near Weybridge, a short commute (under 30 minutes) from central London.

The two-storey house, which arguably occupies the best position on Weymede thanks to its river views and distance from the road, has been recently refurbished and remodelled. Perhaps the most appealing room in the house is the open plan living / dining room which is a fantastically light space. There is a private garden at the back which has been landscaped by the current owner, a landscape architect and garden historian, to include some spectacular trees including a Peeling Bark Cherry tree and a Crab Apple. There is also a nearby garage that comes with the property.

Weymede is one of the best located of the thirty Span estates. 141 houses can be found on a private 15-acre riverside site. The leafy, landscaped surroundings, most notably the large green communal spaces and riverside site (only for the use of Weymede residents), make an enviably attractive setting. Landscaped by Ivor Cunningham, the grounds are always one of the real appeals of Span estates. Weymede backs onto woodland, to which it has private access, which leads to the historic Brooklands Museum.

Weymede is close to a range of supermarkets, shops and restaurants in Brooklands, West Byfleet and Weybridge. Brooklands Shopping Centre is very close (within easy walking distance) and houses a variety of stores including a large M&S.

The A3 and M25 are approximately two miles away , leading directly into central London (distance 25 miles). Heathrow can be reached in 20 minutes and Gatwick can be reached in 40minutes and the coast can be reached in approximately an hour.

The area is well served by railway stations at Byfleet & New Haw, West Byfleet, Weybridge and Woking. Byfleet & New Haw is approximately one mile from Weymede and runs services into London Waterloo from 30 minutes. West Byfleet runs services into London Waterloo in under 30 minutes.
