The villa is built of terracotta blockwork with stone floors, ensuring that it is kept cool in summer and warm in winter.
The villa was designed by Edward and Margot Jones, and built in 2003. As a founding member of
the practice Dixon Jones, Edward Jones has been involved in the design of the Royal
Opera House and the National Portrait Gallery extension, as well as the masterplan for the National Gallery.
